Area Transportation

Living in or visiting a large city is definitely much easier if you know how to get around. That might mean that you need to find the most efficient route to get from your home to your job trading silver bullion or it could mean you need to know how to get back to your North Las Vegas hotel after a night on the Strip. Here is everything you need to know about the various kinds of transportation in North Las Vegas, from getting to the city to getting yourself to the store to pick up some cloth diapers for your baby.

Let's start with getting you into the city. If you're a Toronto caterer, for example, and you're flying into the city than you will likely land at McCarran International Airport. From there you will find many shuttles that will bring you to hotels on and off of the Strip and even some that will take you out outside of Las Vegas. There are also shuttles that run from South Point to the airport. There is no Amtrak station in Las Vegas and the closest stations are in Needles, California and Kingman, Arizona. There is a Greyhound bus station located in Las Vegas on South Main Street.

Once you're in the city you have many choices when it comes to transportation. If you're here to visit the Strip than you can take the Monorail system that runs from MGM Grand Station to Sahara Station and has seven different stops. If you're living in the area and need to get your kids from school to hockey school or need to run errands than you can hop on one of the many bus routes provided by the Regional Transit Commission of Southern Nevada. There are passes for the RTC system available for one, three, five, and thirty days, and premium service for those who would also like to travel on the ACE, ACExpress, and Duece on the Strip lines.

If you're driving within North Las Vegas and the downtown area of Las Vegas than you can expect the usual traffic for a city of this size during peak hours. You may even find that unless you've won a car raffle it might be easier and faster to forego the personal vehicle all together and take the public transit options that are offered by the city in these times. Not only will you find that it's more efficiently and less expensive, but it's also better for the environment.
